The Backstory was a fan animated series of Five Nights at Freddy's. Originally created on April 5, 2016 by Australian YouTuber Fnaf Fan 126. The series serves as a prequel to her Dares/Asks series. It only had three episodes prior to the series being canned in September 2017.
Five Nights at Freddy's The Backstory provides examples of
- Big Bad: William Afton serves as one since he wants to destroy the animatronics.
- Dude Looks Like a Lady: Bonnie sees the Puppet as the "ugliest lady he's ever seen". Puppet tells Bonnie that he's not a lady.
- Gotta Kill Them All: William proceeds to destroy the four animatronics.
- Killed Mid-Sentence: Foxy gets stabbed before he tells the staff member about his badge.Foxy: Oh... um... You're one of the staff membersm right? I can tell from your badge- [gets stabbed by William Afton]
- My God, What Have I Done?: Foxy gives guilt when he was still a human being when Fredbear bit down on the crying child's head.
- Short-Runners: Thanks to it being cancelled early, this series only had three episodes as was Left Hanging.
- Sound-Only Death: The animatronics when they their souls were still humans get killed by William. We do not see them die but hear a stabbing noise.
- Synthetic Voice Actor: All of the characters in the series are voived by Speakonia voices.
