Dinky's Destiny is a multi-part My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fan-animation. The first Act that can be viewed here
. The second Act has not been released yet.
It starts with Dinky Hooves walking inside the Canterlot castle at night. After she manages to unlock the throne room door, she finds Nightmare Moon fighting Celestia. As it turns out, the entire sequence is a nightmare. Dinky has a horn disorder and feels like her destiny as a unicorn is out of her control. Luna feels that Dinky is destined for great things and, feeling a kinship with the foal, decides to help her uncover her true potential.
Dinky's Destiny provides examples of:
- All Just a Dream: The entire sequence of the prologue act turns out to be inside a dream of Dinky's. Unlike most cases, it was almost certainly real given that Luna is a Dream Weaver.
- Fan Animation: It's an 8-minute animation based off of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. It's planned to be a series.
- Fictional Disability: Dinky's horn doesn't work like a normal horn should because it's clockwise.
- To Be Continued: The short ends on a "To be continued..." note.
