WMG / Monster Hunter (2020)

The movie’s version of the Monster Hunter parallel world is actually the same world as Paul WS Anderson’s Resident Evil movies only set far into the future after Alice’s story concluded. The various monsters like the Rathalos are descendants of the mutations created by the T-virus and human society has reverted to Hunter gatherer societies using weapons that combine elements of “lost” technology, actually derived from the technology used during Alice’s time.
