WMG / Don't Hurt Me, My Healer!

Go To

Karla is a healer for the undead and not the living
  • Undead people are damaged by light magic, but are healed by dark magic. Given Karla's skill set in high level dark magic, she can easily heal the undead. However, her dark magic can damage living people and give them curses.
  • Or she might be a healer for the demon/monster side and not for the human side

Karla is secretly the demon queen and is Obfuscating Stupidity to troll the hero

  • Karla has many high level dark magic spells that doesn't match up with the skill set of a healer/cleric. Multiple evil monsters are unfazed by her presence. Moreover, Karla's voice lines hint at her knowing more than she lets on. Her purpose is to troll the hero and prevent him from levelling up and becoming stronger.

Alvin is really a NPC

  • He set of on being an adventurer, not knowing he was never meant to level up, or get more powerful.
    • Karla is the true protagonist because she can have different skills from other classes

Don't Hurt Me, My Healer! is one elaborate satire on Isekai tropes
  • Karla is obviously trolling Alvin more than others.
  • Alvin presents himself in his intro speech as an amazing adventurer who helps the people against the horrible monsters, while in reality he is (up to episode 6 at minimum) the most incompetent character of all. Also seen in the pop-up info comparing the real ages and the mental ages of the three present characters: Karla 72 years real age, 14-15 mentally, Mostly-Bear 324 vs. 43-44 and Alvin 30 vs. *7-8*; also most of the monsters appear quite amicably, very much against the way Isekai or fantasy tropes usually portrait these kinds of monsters, unlike what Alvin claims when the party first meets the new monster.
  • Alvin could also be seen as a satire on self-inserted main characters - again most obviously by the over the top way he presents himself in the intro vs. the daily realities of his failures and the humble and helpful characters the monsters turn out to be vs. how Isekai tropes or Alvin usually see such creatures.
