Dee Dee realizes just how destructive she is towards Dexter and his inventions and sees that she shouldn't try to force and change him. Dexter sees how destructive he can be when he doesn't restrict himself but also that there is a "freer side" to him he can let out. Ultimately both gained a point of view and respect of each other. While Dee Dee is sad and Dexter busy repairing his destroyed lab once again in the long run they will got along much better.

[[WMG: ''Dexter Detention'', ''The Old Switch-a-rooms'', and ''Dexter Vs. Santa Claus'' were all just [[AllJustADream horrible nightmares]] that Dexter had]]
If you recall in the episode ''The Dream Machine'', Dexter had a recurring nightmare of him failing an important test. This represents Dexter's fear of losing his intellect. As such, the episodes above were actually dreams that represented Dexter's deepest, darkest fears. ''Dexter Detention'' was based on Dexter's fear of being seen as a criminal in the public eye. ''The Old Switch-a-rooms'' represents Dexter fear of his Father viewing him as a failure. And finally, ''Dexter Vs. Santa Claus'' is basically Dexter's fear of his ego blinding him of seeing reason. All of these nightmares show that Dexter needs to see that the world is not against him.
[[WMG: Dexter's Monkey was injected with Chemical X from the PowerPuff Girls]]
Two things to consider here: We don't know the full extent of how Dexter experimented on his pet Monkey. Also, Both Monkey and the PowerPuff Girls have very similar powers. It could be possible that Chemical X is what gave Monkey his powers.
