WARNING! Potential Unmarked Spoilers For Danganronpa 2
The students from Danganronpa 2 (with their Remnant of Despair personalities) will appear as bosses in a future update.
All classic JRPG villains have a Quirky Miniboss Squad or similar entourage to help carry out their evil plans. Since Junko is the villain here, it would make sense for the rest of Ultimate Despair (or some of them) to serve as her fighting force:

  • The Knights of Despair: Originally heroes chosen by the Hope Shards to fight back against the forces of Despair, these youths were defeated and corrupted by Junko, becoming her servants and enforcers.
    • Each Knight has a personal reason for spreading Despair.
    • Each Knight has a title centered around a vice. This vice is something that can drive one to despair and is connected to their background and/or abilities.
    • Some serve as Evil Counterparts to the party
    • Each has a power and role associated with their "Ultimate Talent".

  • Nagito Komaeda, the Knight of Misfortune
    • Vice: Nagito believes that fate/destiny control everything and meaning humanity's efforts are meaningless in the face of ill fortune. Only the few chosen by fate to possess exceptional abilities can make a difference.
    • Motive: He serves Junko because he believes the despair she brings will give way to a "most beautiful, shining hope" should the heroes manage to overcome the trials.
    • Power: Nagito retains his Ultimate Luck talent, which is now an actual power rather than just fate (albeit one he doesn't have control over). near-invincibility. Attacks on him will always miss, skills and spells that have a chance of afflicting ailments have no effect on, and he always lands critical hits/Nice Shots.
    • Nagito is Makoto's Evil Counterpart. Initially, he thinks very little of Makoto due to his lack of talent, but becomes intrigued by the boy's ability to overcome even the darkest despair and takes it upon himself to become his "stepping stone".
      • Nagito is one of the friendlier members of Knights. Offering cryptic advice for the party in the form of riddles whenever they cross paths in hopes that they can grow as Champions of Hope.

  • Akane Owari, the Knight of Gluttony
    • Vice: Akane is a gluttonous, hedonistic Blood Knight only interested in food and fighting.
    • Motive: Akane doesn't care about Junko's mission and only goes along with it so she can eat, sleep, and fight whoever she wants.
    • Power: Akane acts as The Brute, relying more on physical skills and brute force than magic. Stat-wise, she'd be more of a Lightning Bruiser than a Mighty Glacier like in most role-playing games.
    • Akane is Aoi's Evil Counterpart. The two start off bitter enemies, but they slowly come to view the other as a Worthy Opponent.

  • "Byakuya Togami", the Knight of Pride
    • Vice: Actually "The Impostor", the Knight of Deception. An individual with no past or name, able to become anyone.
    • Motive: They believe that they can only survive by pretending to be others. Also driven by envy of Byakuya for his talents and status.
    • Power: He copies all of Byakuya's abilities, even one's he hasn't unlocked yet. If fought a multiple times, he will be able to copy the others as well.
    • The party will encounter him using Byakuya's identity as part of the obligatory "Wrongfully Accused, Imprisoned, and Hunted By The Guards" arc of the story.
    • Will be called Twogami or Fatogami by the others.

  • Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu, the Knight of Wrath and Peko Pekoyama, the Knight of Hollowness
    • Vice: Fuyuhiko has a Hair-Trigger Temper, while Peko sees herself as nothing but a tool to be used, commanded, and -if needed- discarded.
    • Motive: Being born into a family of criminals, ruthlessness and cruelty come to him easily. Fuyuhiko has a vicious, "dog eat dog" worldview and doesn't care about or trust the other Knights (save Peko). Peko only works with the Knights to serve Fuyuhiko.
    • Power: Both characters wield swords due to being a the Ultimate Yakuza and Swordswoman. Fuyuhiko would unlikely fight alone, being more of a planner while Peko does the fighting.
      • Peko would be one of the few characters to wield an Asian weapon, a katana. This would give her strong attacks and a high critical hit rate. She would also have skills that let her counter enemy attacks, attack multiple times in one turn, and an insta-kill, iaijutsu attack.
      • If fighting alongside Fuyuhiko, Peko would take hits for him ala the Cover ability from Final Fantasy. Doing so would make her angry, increasing her attack power.

  • Izuru Kamukura/Hajime Hinata, Knight-Commander of Despair
    • Vice: Hajime always wanted to be a hero and was disheartened when he wasn't chosen to be one of the protectors of the Hope Shards. Like in the source material, he acquired the power he needed after being changed into Izuru, but was left completely bored and empty inside.
    • Motive: Despite his incredible power, Izuru has no interest in his role as Commander, leaving stronger Knights like Nekomaru, Sonia, Fuyuhiko, and Twogami to lead in his stead. He only gets involved if something interests him.
    • Power: Izuru Kamukura is the Ultimate Hope turned evil. He has the highest stats, the highest HP, and the all the strongest skills and spells in the game (if not every, single one, period).
    • Due to his sheer power, Izuru will likely be relegated as The Unfought or an extremely difficult, optional Superboss.
