The show is a prequel to My Family.

Wolfie eventually realised that the Revolution was never going to happen and that he was basically wasting his life. After this, he got his act together — he moved away from Tooting, changed his name to Ben Harper (or if you prefer, he stopped using his revolutionary "Smith" alias) and trained to be a dentist.
