Art's potential backstory

  • Art was born in 17th century America. He presumably didn't have a father figure and was instead raised by an abusive mother which explains his childlike behaviour towards the homeless lady in the first movie. Due to this upbringing he became mentally ill, but despite everything he tried to make people laugh and dreamed about being a clown, taking particular interest in Italian Harlequin Clowns when he grew up. He was regularly abused and mocked by his community, particularly by the women, being constantly ridiculed and rejected by his advances, which explains his misogyny and why he inflicts more brutaltiy towards his female victims than his male victims. Despite everything, Art managed to successfully became a clown but that didn't stop the community's treatment of him. It eventually lead to a deadly prank on October 31st. Dying with so much anger and rage caused Art to manifest as a demonic entity hell bent on inflicting brutality towards anyone unlucky to come across him on Halloween Day.
