Per TRS, this is YMMV. Removing because YMMV can't be played with.

* SequelDifficultySpike: Zigzagged. The change from a more linear setting and more places to hide in the previous games of the series contrasted to the more intelligent guard A.I, fewer places to hide have caused many people to be taken aback by how challenging MGSV can be, especially when playing the Hard missions in ''Ground Zeroes''.

There are only eight mainline Metal Gear games: MG 1-MG 2, MGS 1-MGS 4, Peace Walker, and MGSV. Portable Ops and Rising may be canon in the Metal Gear timeline, but they are spinoffs due to not being directed by Hideo Kojima.

Added DiffLines:

* SequelNumberSnarl: The games are subtitled V despite being collectively the sixth mainline Metal Gear Solid game, with Peace Walker being the fifth game and still being a mainline title from Hideo Kojima. {{Subverted}} as the V subtitle does not actually stand for Roman numeral 5, but rather the letter V, bringing with it multiple different interpretations (Venom, Vengeance, Victory, etc...).
