Loading Screen Simulator is a video game by Cake Eater Games for computers running Windows. In it, you wait through an incredibly long load time, clicking to earn money and buying upgrades to make it go faster. The game was originally released in 2015 as Loading Screen Simulator 2015, before being re-released on Steam in 2017 with its updated title as well as more content and receiving an update in 2019.

This game provides examples of:

  • Exact Progress Bar: Parodied. The time left section can't decide whether there's only a few seconds left or several years.
  • Game Within a Game: You can buy "A GAME!!!" in the in-game shop. It involves bouncing a ball with a paddle vertically, Pong style.
  • Loads and Loads of Loading: The game itself doesn't take long to load, but it is a loading simulator.
  • Money Sink: The "Give us your money" option in the shop, which gives a small boost in loading speed, costs 150$, and can be bought infinitely.
  • Pop Quiz: The commands windows has you answer questions, some normal "What's the fourteenth letter of the alphabet?" and some odd "Are you a humman?" [sic].
  • A Winner Is You: After filling the bar up completely, you get a .gif of a kitten, then just the words "The end".
