Lichdom: Battlemage is a 2014 first person Action RPG by Xaviant.

In a world where the moon has been shattered, the kingdom of Drivasser has fallen under the control of the Cult of Malthus, an evil cult dedicated to a legendary necromancer which desires to take over the world via an army of undead. You play as a man or a woman whose life was irrevocably destroyed by the Cult's second-in-command, the depraved Count Shax. A mysterious mage named Roth offers you the chance to take revenge by giving you a pair of enchanted bracers that give you near limitless magical power. Now dubbed "The Dragon", it falls to you to take revenge on Shax, discover the cult's secrets, and drive them from Drivasser for good.

This game provides examples of:

  • Body Surf: This turns out to be the source of Roth's immortality. His true form appears to be a glowing white mouse that is transferred from host to host. You see this happen firsthand when Roth transfers himself from his original body to the body of the dying Archbishop.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: The cultists, especially the higher ups, are almost cartoonishly evil.
  • The Dragon: As the Preceptor of the cult, Count Shax is the cult's second-in-command, answering directly to the Grand Preceptor, King Cavassa. Shax himself has two Dragons: Captain Rogiro and the Executor.
  • Dragon Their Feet: An interesting variant. Shax does die halfway through the game, well before Cavassa. However, once Cavassa dies, Shax is resurrected as a Demon and assumes command of the cult's remaining forces.
  • Enemy Summoner: Banshees, Cultist Witches and undead mages all possess the ability to summon undead minions, ranging from weak skeletons, archers and even to fully armored knights. Thankfully, the summoned undead automatically drop dead the moment their summoner dies.
  • Flunky Boss: All of them!
  • Hero of Another Story: You get to see snippets of the previous Dragon's adventures.
  • Legacy Character: There were many Dragons before Dragon. In fact, you can see snippets of the previous Dragon in the first area.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: The entire reason the Dragon and the Gryphon agree to fight the cult.
    • After coming back as a Demon, Count Shax becomes obsessed with getting revenge on the Dragon for killing him and his children.
  • Static Role, Exchangeable Character: You have a choice to play as a male blacksmith out to avenge his wife or a female jeweler out to avenge her sister. The one you choose to play as becomes the Dragon, while the other ends up being the Gryphon.
  • Superior Successor: Roth tells Dragon that they will succeed where the previous one left off.
  • Tragic Keepsake: The Dragon is shown to have kept the Gryphon's earrings after their Heroic Sacrifice.
