Lemon vs. Teddy is a combat-focused RPG with gameplay that combines 8-bit inspirations with modern conveniences. It also has a rather bizarre storyline. Basically, you're a lemon dude that's on a quest to destroy the world before a certain teddy bear does it.
This game contains examples of:
- Achievement Mockery: The only achievement in the game is obtained by getting a Game Over.
- Attack Reflector: The Reflect status effect. Surprisingly impractical for the player due to its short duration.
- Battle Theme Music: Averted. The music doesn't change upon entering combat, unless it's a boss fight.
- Critical Hit: They are twice as strong as regular attacks, though happen very rarely. The Focus ability can be used to guarantee a single critical hit.
- Damage Over Time: Corrosive acid and Deadline.
- Excuse Plot: The whole storyline is basically this.
- Experience Booster: The Advantage sticker.
- Gathering Steam: The abilities Magic finger, Bubbles and Curse of Jxkfdvc start off weak, but get noticeably stronger with each use.
- Guest-Star Party Member: Teddy.
- Healer Signs On Early: Noemi, who has the best healing capabilities is the first character that joins your party.
- Level Grinding: Played straight, though the EXP and BTC multiplies can be modified to make it less time-consuming.
- Mutually Exclusive Party Members: Rai and Ufola.
- One-Hit Kill: The Elimination ability, which is used by some enemies and bosses.
- Optional Boss: Hiertel, Jipo, Airila and more.
- Random Encounters: Played straight, though they can be avoided by running.
- Reduced Mana Cost: The Efficiency status effect lowers the MP cost of all abilities by 1/3.
- Skippable Boss: The fight with Kikirik can be skipped by answering "No". You'll miss out on a useful sticker, though.
- Status Buff: Magic shield, Coffee and Sprint.
- Status-Buff Dispel: The Status ban and Neutra abilities.
