It Is Coming is a 2023 Survival Horror game by Dave Microwaves Games.

The unnamed player character wakes up in an unknown location (Planet Camebox), abducted from their home planet for reasons unknown. Now their only choice is to endure the trials set in store for them, and evade wave after wave of anomaly. Perhaps there's a way out, somewhere?

WARNING - THE TROPES COMETH

  • Achievement Mockery: One of the achievements, and likely one of the first players will unlock, is YOU DIED.
  • The Atoner: After stealing the group's UFO at an unspecified point in the past, Lake became extremely remorseful, sending the UFO back to Planet Camebox and leaving a note in it asking whoever finds and flies the UFO next to set its autopilot to go back in case anyone else needs to escape.
  • Book Ends: Angel is the default anomaly and thus the first one the player will encounter. A distorted version of him serves as the closest thing to a Final Boss.
  • Contrived Coincidence: The autopilot UFO arrives back on Planet Camebox just in time to serve a purpose in the final level.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Maxi turning into an anomaly caused Lake to snap and steal and take off in the group's UFO.
  • Have a Nice Death: Getting killed by any anomaly will result in a string of text appearing as the screen fades out.
It stares at your lifeless corpse.
  • One-Hit Kill: All anomalies in the game kill you on touch, and most hazards like lava and acid are also immediate death.
  • Plague Zombie: In a way, the anomalies. Their only goal is to kill any non-anomalies they see and they're by far the most common cause of death, and every time one of the subjects comes back there's a chance they'll corrupt into another anomaly.
  • Random Event: They'll appear at intervals depending on the difficulty mode, with varying effects.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Doctor Hide was created after an incident where Dave got startled by his hand's shadow on the wall late at night.
  • Resurrective Immortality: The complex holding the subjects has found a way to prevent death itself, bringing them back to life whenever one happens to die.
    • Someone Bree knew is implied to have found a way to break this, dying somewhere their body couldn't be found and thus couldn't be revived.
  • Sdrawkcab Speech: Comfort's theme consists of a voice speaking in what seems like gibberish. Reversing the theme reveals the voice is actually offering words of comfort backwards.
  • Stock Audio Clip: For Edgy Dave and It's MOM, all of their music and voice lines are directly ported from previous games, with neither having any new audio.
  • Timed Mission: In the Find Flimbo random event, you have to find Flimbo quickly, as taking too long results in him getting angry and charging your location.
  • Uncertain Doom: The original group of humans were working on an escape UFO before Lake stole it and flew off. None of them appear in the present and their fates are left unknown.
  • Walking Spoiler: Due to their significant actions in the lore of the game, it's difficult to talk about Maxi and Lake without spoiling something important.
  • Weird Crossover: The Golden Boobman, Edgy Dave, and It's MOM all appear, straight from their original series. None of them have importance in the story, nor is their presence explained.
