Fallout UIF XB1 PC is a massive expansion mod that introduces an entirely new faction to the game called The Union of Independent Federations (UIF for short) with their own storyline, missions and ending. The mod can be started at any time after the player has confronted Kellogg and the Prydwen is docked at the Boston airport, but it is strongly recommended that the player be at least level 30 or so due to the high concentrations of powerful enemies. While much of the action takes place in the Commonwealth itself Fallout UIF boasts several new locations set in the surrounding wasteland as well. There are also numerous new characters, weapons, armor and other cool things to discover, making this one of the most ambitious quest mods Fallout 4 has seen yet.

This Game Mod contains the following tropes:

  • Addled Addict: One of the prisoners the player has to interrogate during a sidequest is a crazed jet addict who can barely speak english without screaming or shouting. Promising him some jet can get the player vital information to assist in dealing with the other prisoners.
  • Apocalyptic Log: The second mission has the Sole Survivor come across the corpses of a missing squad and finding holotape recordings detailing what happened to them. At first it appears to be a simple Super Mutant attack, but as the player heads deeper into the building it becomes apparent that there is more going on than just a random mutant attack. On the way back to base a special elite Deathclaw shows up near the exit and it becomes clear just what massacred the soldiers.
  • Asshole Victim: All of the prisoners fought in the Arena are various forms of human garbage. Raiders, rapists, cannibals, a woman who sold her own children for a 100 caps and even a captured Institute Courser.
  • Badass Army: The UIF of course. They have cool black and red armor and uniforms, super lethal weapons, advanced technology and even vertibirds and power armor. They are so badass, in fact, that only the BOS poses any real threat to their expansion into Boston. Unfortunately, this makes the two factions mortal enemies willing to fight to the death for control of the Commonwealth.
  • Bears Are Bad News: One early quest has the player pass by a high level Yao Guai den on their way to a firefight.
  • Creator Cameo: Dark Claw Raven appears at the very beginning of the mod to explain things and get the player started.
  • Don't Go Into the Woods: One of the two ways of reaching the UIF base involves taking a path through an overgrown forest filled with mutant animals, bugs, Deathclaws and Super Mutant BEHEMOTHS.
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: Sergeant Keyes. The man could give Sergeant Dornan a run for his money.
  • Elite Mooks: The UIF has several variants, such as soldiers equipped with heavy duty plating, flame suits and even a few with their own power armor.
  • Game-Breaking Bug: An unfortunate problem with the mod is that there are a lot of things that can break due to its sheer size. The main HQ of the UIF is especially prone to this, so remember to save early and often.
  • Gladiator Subquest: The UIF base has a large arena set up where soldiers can fight against condemned prisoners of war who chose to fight over being executed.
  • Hold the Line: One mission has the player and some UIF soldiers forced to defend themselves from an attacking horde of feral ghouls and infected UIF soldiers while a repairman fixes up their escape vehicle.
  • Mildly Military: The UIF is a massive standing army similar to the NCR, but the player is still given a lot of freedom when it comes to achieving their objectives even before they start rising through the ranks. So long as the Sole Survivor gets the job done effectively no one complains.
  • Military Moonshiner: Captain Hannes, who makes his own special brand of moonshine similar to the Boborov brothers in Diamond City.
  • One-Man Army: While the player will sometimes receive support from fellow UIF soldiers most missions rely on them alone storming a fortification or accomplishing an objective while their back up stays behind to hold off the enemy or simply guard the front door while the player does all of the actual fighting.
  • Sadistic Choice: The Union of Independent Federations and Brotherhood of Steel are mortal enemies and joining the UIF will immediately cause the BOS to shoot on sight. As such, its impossible to complete the mod without one side being completely destroyed by the other. Choose wisely.
  • Storming the Castle: This happens several times. The early missions against the Gunners have the player storm both the Gunner's Plaza and another base about five miles outside of Boston.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: One sidequest has the player interrogate captured prisoners for the UIF at their base. Passing speech checks when talking to each of them will reveal important information about the other prisoners and help the player figure out what they need to know. Once the player gives the information to their commanding officer he then orders all the prisoners executed, though the player can choose whether or not they want to participate in the bloodshed.
  • Zombie Infectee: Near the end of the mission "Warning... Biohazard..." the player and a group of UIF soldiers have to defend their position against a large horde of feral ghouls. About a third of the way through the assault infected UIF soldiers show up and begin firing on their former comrades, forcing the player to put them down as well.
