[\], often written out as Bracketed Backslash, is a VVVVVV player level by Weird Shadow Machine. In it, Captain Viridian and his crew are captured by terrorists researching how to destroy dimensions. Viridian has no way of escaping, so he makes a clone of himself, and that's where you come in.
You play as the clone and you must travel around the dimension, rescuing the members of the crew, before eventually rescuing Viridian himself, and escaping the dimension.
[\] contains examples of:
- Apocalypse How: At the end of the level, the entire dimension is destroyed.
- Checkpoint Starvation:
- Subverted with the Side Shaft, which at first appears to be a DTTHW clone, but is actually just a really tall dungeon with lots of deadly spikes.
- Downplayed with the long outside area before the Side Shaft, which has no checkpoints but also nothing that could actually kill you.
- Filler: Similar to the main game, the outside area exists largely to fill up the map, but two examples stand out: the aforementioned long area before the Side Shaft, and the ginormous emblem in the center of the map.
