Blade Prince Academy is an unreleased Dungeon Punk RPG developed by Angel Corp. It was funded by a Kickstarter campaign
that began in May 2023, the same day its demo was released on Steam.
The game is set in Abjectalia, a city on a sunless planet where monsters are as normal as humans. The peacekeepers (so to speak) of Abjectalia are the Blade Princes, teenage soldiers of the government. Though Princes have wildly different origins and magics, they are united under one goal- to serve the city's rulers with unyielding fervor.
Phoebos, a hot-tempered demon, is the most gifted of the Blade Princes. When a gang attacks the Blade Prince Academy, Phoebos is chosen to hunt down the perpetrators. Joining him is a team of the Academy's best; rebellious Ethyllion, thoughtful O'Ren, and ambitious Diamante.
This game contains the following tropes:
- Academy of Adventure: The Blade Prince Academy's whole purpose is to get its students in danger, a purpose it fulfils superbly. Students include every species under the moon, and can specialize in anything from ice magic to sniper guns.
- Alien Sky: Tenebrae has no sun, just a periodically circling moon. Life (including jungles) still thrives on the planet, but it doesn't always look like Earth life.
- The Migration: The Black Mages were exiled for "forbidden magical and medical experiments", after which they founded Abjectalia.
