The First Purple Dragon

The Chronicler tells the Spyro the story of a powerful dragon that was able to utilize every dragon element, to which Spyro realizes it was a purple dragon. Unfortunately, the dragon's lust for power resulted in him being exiled, after which he set up a fortress in a mountain and built an army of apes, becoming known as the Dark Master.
