The Dursleys

In the "Harry Potter" franchise, Petunia and Vernon Dursley hate magic. In Petunia's case, it's because as a child her sister was a witch and she was jealous, wanting to get into Hogwarts herself but being unable to. In Vernon's case, it's because he's simply an uptight, straight-laced man who can't abide thought of anything even the slightest bit abnormal. In any case, the two raise Harry telling him nothing about his past, hoping that by eschewing anything even remotely magical they can somehow force it out of him. But they don't reckon on the fact that as muggles, they are completely ill-equipped to stop somebody magical from claiming their birthright at Hogwarts.
