John DeLorean (born January 6 1925-March 19, 2005) was the owner of the DeLorean motor company which was known for the company's only car, the DMC-12. It has been used in numerous types of media with the most notable example being Back to the Future as the main vehicle. Even though he’s been in the car business for many years such as the Pontiac GTO, he is most notable for his car company and for this vehicle.

He was caught in a drug sting operation which has led to minor controversy for a moment, but this didn’t go anywhere as he was in fact, entrapped.

Many other media started following suit due to the car’s inclusion in Back to the Future.
