X-Men Film Series series has had fair share of mutants who can be seen completely out of left-field.
Be wary, all spoilers will be unmarked. You Have Been Warned!

X-Men: First Class
- Logan of all people rejects joining the X-Men to Charles and Erik and says "Go fuck yourself."
The Wolverine
- Magneto appears in The Stinger warning Logan about Bolivar Trask.
- Charles Xavier appears in the same scene.
X-Men: Days of Future Past
- En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse appears in The Stinger in Ancient Egypt.
- The Four Horsemen of Apocalypse appear in the same scene.
Deadpool
- It features appearances from Colossus, Angel Dust and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, all three of whom have close ties to the X-Men franchise, but none of whom are connected to Deadpool in the comics. And besides Colossus, the two ladies are unexpected for being rather obscure mutants - Warhead in particular was only included because the writers liked her codename. The Lawyer-Friendly Cameo by HYDRA agent Bob, made without name-dropping HYDRA, could also feel unexpected to viewers who thought Marvel Studios' ownership of the organization he works for would prevent him from appearing in a Fox movie. Deadpool sure sounds surprised to see him. In the same vein, although it's not a character, the final fight takes place on a crashed and disused Helicarrier from The Avengers (2012) and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, made most clear in the final shot.
Deadpool 2
- Charles Xavier, Storm, Beast, Nightcrawler, Cyclops and Quicksilver left their door open in the X-Mansion. Beast closed the door as they heard Deadpool talking away.
- The Juggernaut is seen as a shock to many since his appearance in The Last Stand felt underwhelming.
- Shatterstar definitely counts because he is the first alien to appear in the franchise.
- Deadpool time-travels to the events of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and kills his inferior self in front of Wolverine.
