Larseis is a Troper.

Hails from various places in the western United States, but considers Washington and Utah to be "home." Has spent a collective 72 hours outside the U.S., exclusively limited to Canada, but wishes to travel the world. It's just that damn money situation keeps getting in the way.

Reading 1984 in sixth grade has caused me to fear anything and everything which might resemble an Orwellian society. This ranges from the obvious fear of cults of personality, to less obvious fears like "lolspeak" and pep assemblies (which, as you may imagine, made high school a nightmare). I also have a vehement dislike of flip-flops, but I'm not sure if that's connected.

Likes lots of things. The following come to mind:

  • Avatar The Last Airbender - Best kids' show ever, if you can call it a kids' show, because it's got much wider appeal than an uninitiated observer might suspect.
  • Buffy The Vampire Slayer
  • Cowboy Bebop - Great anime? Or Greatest Anime?
  • Kimi Ni Todoke - After years of dealing with generally selfish people, I like to have this series to fall back on and make me believe that kindness and understanding exist somewhere out there.
  • Anything by Kyoto Animation.
  • Mass Effect - Really, anything by Bio Ware, who seem heck-bent on revolutionizing storytelling through video games. And as a storyteller, I'm pro that.
  • Megas XLR - As a lifelong pop-culture nerd, this is the stuff dreams are made of.
  • Strangers In Paradise - I love a good, well-written drama, and this is one of the best.

Created the Kimi Ni Todoke page, but stopped working on it to avoid spoilers. But if you like the manga, please help out by providing some examples.

Side Note: My favorite Trope is the Time Skip. I love a good one, and I'll even check out a story with a bad one.
