Tropers: Mauyn Eign
Describe Mauyn Eign here: An anagram.

Longtime lurker turned somewhat reluctant and lazy- but obsessive- editor by... obsession. Got known Saturday, April 18th, 2009, but had been editting for several months before that. Goes by the name Mauyn Eign on a few websites, but also several other names, though Mauyn Eign is most common.

Mauyn Eign is a particularly finicky person when it comes to details, so if they happen to overzealously drag an entry on too long, they apologize- but something that really bugs them is the judicious application of the spoilertag when one can reword things to not need the spoiler in the first place.

Likes to feign indifference even if they actually aren't, and is woefully indirect about things, much to the chagrin of their friends, who have to put up with meandering MSN sessions that appear to be going nowhere. Getting a direct answer from Mauyn Eign is... worrying, because it's probably not that direct.

Apparently is the quiet one, but Mauyn Eign is puzzled by this as they can really, really, go overboard and stray into verbosity.

Has a tendency to embarrass easily in certain conditions, and not so much in others. Having a lot of attention, for example, is one of the first.

Is deathly scared of heights. Ironic, considering.

Warning: Mauyn Eign is a very contradictory person, and despite not liking hypocrites, will admit that they are very much a hypocrite themself. If they happen to do something that contradicts with what they've already done, this is normal until they can figure themself out. This is not a case of split personalities, though they might not know because they've never been checked by a psychologist. It's more of becoming the mask too many times to tell which facade is which or which personality was the first; a side effect of not actually having a defined role model and thus modeling themselves after many different fictional characters. Basic personalities are as follows: These aren't just moods. They are somewhat like moods except that they go a lot farther than just moods would go. Moods would be like at that time of the month. Moving on.

Really doesn't understand some people too much. If they happen to be abrasive without meaning, they apologize. Has a tendency to be overly blunt while stating facts, but attempts to reign it in. Perhaps that's the cause of the perception of being quiet.

Mildly artistic. Has issues remembering things, but can recall useless facts years later, though they might doubt them because of everyone else saying it's false. Alas, when it's looked up, the fact's usually true- long after it matters.

Incidentally, is female, but doesn't feel a particular need to point that out. A girl on teh intarwebs, so what?

And, incidentally, is young. Teenage young. Not old enough to drive a car young. Huzzah. But she's not going to be that young for much longer. Boo.

She's not so emotionless as this description makes her sound, by the way. Has a mildly sadistic streak, but it hasn't- and won't- hurt anyone.

Takes an interest in Mind Screw sort of stories, but is getting tired of people seeing subtext that may or may not even exist in everything. Likes the RPG genre of games, but is competitive enough to make an attempt at playing FPS or something if she is challenged. Said attempts are rather hit and miss, depending.

Took notice of the Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis page after it was launched and proceeded to probably double the length of the page by fleshing out the list of tropes. Also contributed a few entries here and there in Magnificent Bastard, Crowning Music of Awesome, Tales of the Abyss, and others not remembered.

Applicable tropes:
  • Brainy Brunette: So dark that it's practically black; and though she doesn't quite agree, she has a reputation for being the walking encyclopedia of her group of friends. She disagrees because that's all that she has. No common sense, people skills, or tact. Also related:
  • Character Alignment: Swings around; troper has taken the test a fair amount of times several months apart. According to test:
    • True Neutral
    • Neutral Good
      • And sometimes when she's not in her right mind/suffering from lack of sleep/is just not thinking, Lawful Stupid.
    • But personally, the troper's always thought of herself as a cynical True Neutral of types 2, 4, and 7 with a tendency to waver between Neutral Good and Chaotic Neutral. Generally wishes people well, but will not get involved much with them because she lives for herself, first and foremost, and is willing to ignore authority and rules if it conflicts with her own moral code. She probably appears Lawful Good to society. Still, if she helps someone and gets thanked for it... well, consider her in Genki Girl persona for the rest of the day.
  • Cryptic Conversation: Ever had a MSN convo with her? If she's comfortable enough, she'll be dancing from non-subject to non-subject, only barely hinting at what she really wants to say or talk about. Because remember, "when women say one thing, they usually mean something else!"
  • Deadpan Snarker: Primarily online, though she has flung out cynical jabs in real life.
  • Fangirl: Ahem, well...
  • Genki Girl: Another not seen as often side that tends to manifest when she's really, really, really over the top happy. The times when she has gone into this mood for over an hour can be counted on your hands.
  • Literal-Minded: Not to outrageous amounts, but.
  • Meganekko: Perhaps one of the few tropes that can apply consistently.
  • Motor Mouth: Apparently, she can lapse into this, according to the few people she says more than 5 words to at a time. This can lapse into...
  • The Stoic: One of the fronts. No, she's not an Emotionless Girl, thank you very much.
Probably more, but she's always sucked at those "tell me about yourself" questions. Thus everything on this page should probably be taken with a grain of salt.

Speak ill of anything she likes in her presence and die, unless you can provide a good reason that impresses her enough so that she doesn't talk your head off debating it. Speak ill of her friends, and your fate generally depends on what sort of mood she's in.

She believes that this has gone on long enough.
