I was born in the former Jugoslavia, but my family emigrated to Canada when I was a year old. I majored in Classics at the University of Toronto, with minors in French literature and English. Following two failed attempts to be admitted to teachers’ college, I relocated to the Czech Republic to teach English. I ended up making friends and staying there. I tried twice to return to Canada and re-integrate there, but having spent too much of my adult life abroad made this impossible. I now permanently live in the Czech Republic and have obtained Czech citizenship.
My interests include nature, history, bagpipes and Celtic culture, and social justice, in particular children’s and youth rights.
Some of my favorite tropes include Canada Does Not Exist, Deliberately Bad Example, Due to the Dead, Getting Crap Past the Radar, Values Dissonance, and Where the Hell Is Springfield?. I’m also quite interested in tropes related to parents and children, and tropes related to hair.
