• Development Gag: The author originally wanted to write a one-shot of Streibough giving Alethea snapdragons but decided to integrate it into the prologue of this story instead.
• Inspiration for the Work:
  • The author reveals that she got inspired due to how Akira ended up having many similarities to the heroes of 5D's. Namely, Akira is a spiky-haired teenager who has a red bike like Yusei, and the psychic powers of Akiza. There's also how Akira's boss is a giant bird statue and the Final Boss of the Dark Signers Arc was a raptor.
  • A comment reveals the author was inspired by the flashbacks in My Dark King to expand the relationships of the Dark Signers with each other, although she also bemoaned that it mostly was through the lens of Carly.
• Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: Green Phantom Queen admits that Greiger is only in the Fortune Cup because she didn't have any extra character on hand to fill in after shifting some around.
