• Executive Meddling: All of the 17-19 year old playable characters were changed to be 20 year old in the 1.0 update, as Nintendo's policies towards depictions of underage smoking would otherwise prevent the game from getting released on Nintendo Switch.
• Official Fan-Submitted Content: Both playable character Moriko Ishii and the mystery "Bloody Brief of a Beckoning Bulletin" were created by Discord user Jeane.
• Schedule Slip:
  • It was supposed to be released before the end of 2019, but it was pushed to February 2020 instead.
  • The June 2020 update was pushed back to September, due to the significant amount of content (including a new character and Old God), Panstasz's work on Dread X Collection 2, and his moving.
  • Perhaps the most notorious case would be for the update after that, intended to add custom characters and challenges to the game. After uploading a few teasers, in December 2020 Panstasz abruptly went radio silent and stopped updating his social media. Despite Ysbyrd Games's insistence that they would report if he was unable to continue development, it wasn't enough to prevent a few to begin speculating that he had Died During Production. Thankfully, in mid-October of 2021, he finally resurfaced and announced a major content update for the coming November... that actually came out in early December.
  • After the December 2021 went live, Panstasz went into radio silence yet again, bringing another bout of people speculating he either actually did die during production this time or he was (and to some, still) grifting the Steam Early Access system. He then stealth dropped the 0.9.9 update on Halloween 2022, with smaller updates rolling out in the first couple weeks of November.
  • The game finally left Steam Early Access with the release of version 1.0 on October 19, 2023... but the 1.0 update for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation had to be delayed to the 26th due to red tape.
• Word of God: Panstasz confirmed on Discord that despite appearing to be old enough to live on their own, Kana is under 18 years old.
  • Canus, the Lunar Cat was inspired by a Small Name, Big Ego artist that wasn’t particularly good.
• Word of Saint Paul: According to Jeane (who created a character and a mystery for the game), Moriko is canonically lesbian.
