Trivia / Wilbur Soot

Go To

  • Creator Backlash: A minor case. Wilbur has stated that he's not happy with some of his old work anymore, and has distanced himself from "Your City Gave Me Asthma" and "Maybe I Was Boring". He, however, does not mind at all if other people use the songs in their own creative works, and even did a concert where he played through all of "Your City Gave Me Asthma" and some of "Maybe I was Boring" live on his Twitch channel.
  • Development Hell: The fourth song in the E-Girl saga, "Softboy", was meant to be released in February of 2021. This never happened, and a few months later, Wilbur announced that Softboy would be shelved for the foreseeable future. Snippets of the song have been played on his friends' streams, and a scene from one of Tom Simons's vlogs shows him performing it with the rest of Lovejoy, with the official release coming on the 25th of September, 2022.
  • Overshadowed by Controversy: Wilbur's reputation took a nosedive on February 21, 2024, when his ex-girlfriend Shubble released a video that implicated him for being abusive to her during their relationship, which included, among other things, an incident when he ignored a safe word during sex and bit her hard enough to draw blood, followed by him poking at the wound despite her clear discomfort. This would be followed by Wilbur releasing his own apology a few days later that downplayed the severity of the situation. Not only did this apology get rejected by Shubble, but the apology caused most of his former friends and collaborators to condemn his actions, which also led to him being kicked off the QSMP.
  • Working Title: "Your City Gave Me Asthma" was initially called "Cocaine Makes You Boring".
