• House Pseudonym: Noel Gerson wrote the original twelve under the name Donald Clayton Porter, and after his death in 1988 a different person used the same pen name to write the final sixteen. This also happened to Gerson's Wagons West series; he wrote the first seventeen novels under the name of Dana Fuller Ross and upon his death the pen name lived on with three different authors, who finished the series and did the sequel and prequel novel series as well.
