Trivia / Weapon X (1991)

Go To

  • Novelization: Received one in 2005 courtesy of Marc Cerasini.
  • What Could Have Been: According to Barry Windsor-Smith, he had a talk with Chris Claremont while writing the series and found out his fellow writer always intended for Apocalypse to be the real mastermind behind Wolverine's transformation into a living weapon. As a courtesy, Barry created a subplot in which the Professor is repeatedly seen arguing with a mysterious benefactor on the phone, foreshadowing Apocalypse's involvement in a manner that would still allow Claremont to explore the plot point on his own book. However, with Chris leaving the series in 1991, the arc was forgotten until Grant Morrison revisited it in New X-Men, where the Greater-Scope Villain behind the Weapon X project was instead established to be a brand new character called Sublime.
