  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: According to Box Office Mojo the film made 2,4 million dollars. Almost half of that gross (circa 1 million dollars) came from the Russian release, which is more than any other country. It made far more money in Russia than Germany.
  • What Could Have Been: In the deleted scenes it's completely clear that Louise just gives up at the end and allows Lena to kill her.
    • Louise was going to be a more clearly evil character in the film as shot. In the final edit she is more of a tragic figure.
    • The sparkle in the eyes that Louise looks for was not meant to be a sign that a woman was the reincarnation of her original lover. In the novelization and the deleted scenes it's explained that only certain people could become vampires and the sparkle was the sign for that. In the edit almost all references to that only certain people had the potential to be vampires was removed except one line from Louise. Instead the eye-sparkle is inferred to be a sign of possible reincarnation, because it makes more sense that Louise is looking for this rather than a random woman that happens to be able to become a vampire AND is the reincarnation of her creator.
