• Chart Displacement: Most casual music fans would probably assume that the band's second-biggest charting hit behind "Shut Up and Dance" would be "Anna Sun", which played in many commercials in the early 2010s and played a major role in the band's rise to mainstream success. Not so; while "Anna Sun" is the only other song of theirs to go Platinum, it never managed to reach the Hot 100, while the much less successful "One Foot" did.
• One-Hit Wonder: One of the most prominent examples of the 2010s. Though the band had several hits on Rock and Alternative radio before and after "Shut Up and Dance", none made the crossover to the Top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100 (nor have had an enduring legacy as a wedding staple). Only "One Foot" even managed to touch Hot 100 again, and it didn't even scratch the Top 40.
