- Saved from Development Hell: Due to the content, the film had a bumpy production, as it was extremely hard to find anyone willing to put money on it due to a really touchy subject like the Volhynian Slaughter. That goes without mentioning the movie itself consisting of Gorn normally seen in gorefest horrors. Then Ukrainian authorities made a lot of fuss about the production and punished the Ukrainian actors who played in it for participating in the production, both financially and by public shaming. Smarzowski eventually outright plead for help of the common people and managed to get interest of a few key organisations, including such unlikely sponsors like the Polish State Securities Printing House, to finalize the production and edit together the finished material.
