- CVGW James, who requested the story, has explained that Meggy's murder of three of the four members of Team Killer Ink happened after the former team had won Splatfest, and the inciting incident (Iris' discrimination) happened before Meggy left the arena. This wasn't made clear in the original comic. James also said that Iris' words made Meggy think back to what Axol said: that being an Inkling is overrated. His comment on Page 16
