- No Budget: Before a significant financial investment in new equipment was made, the gang huddled around two small microphones that barely picked their voices up. Audio improves markedly from Episode 7 on.
- The Pete Best: Doug Kirk. After appearing in the first episode, he was "fired" by the group. He does cameo in Episode 8, discussing his rules for Holiday displays.
- With Beatles fandom playing a big part in the group, Lawrence explicitly referred to Doug as the Pete Best and his replacement Tim as the Ringo Starr. This led to a discussion as to who the other three corresponded with. It was decided that Lawrence best corresponded with John Lennon, Jeff with Paul McCartney, and John with George Harrison.
- Although their personalities are probably best matched as follows:
- Jeff, who is outwardly sardonic and snarky most of the time is the John Lennon.
- John, who is talkative and generally tries to keep the group on task is the Paul McCartney.
- Tim, who is generally the quiet one with the greatest social conscience is the George Harrison.
- Lawrence, who is the most affable, friendly, and self-deprecating is the Ringo Starr.
