• Word of God: Severak routinely answers questions posted on both the Alternate History and Spacebattles threads.
• Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: Severak admitted to doing this in the reboot announcement, explaining that their first attempt at writing the story failed largely because they couldn't work out where the story was going.
