  • Prop Recycling:
    • The large-scale model used for Toad's guard lying in the bushes was first used in "Buzz, Buzz" to represent one of James' crew cowering from the swarm of bees.
    • In a Freeze-Frame Bonus, if you look very closely when Toad is being diverted from a siding at Crosby, you can see the train being pushed by the chassis normally under Mavis.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • As shown in Concept Art and the Series 5 rushes, some of the trucks were supposed to derail on the points at Crosby and be left behind, in order to show the intensity of the runaway. For whatever reason, this was not included in the final episode.
    • Said rushes also include a scene of Henry smiling as the runaway train passes him. This is believed to have been filmed in an attempt to merge it with the scene of Henry with a surprised expression (which did make it into the final episode) to make it seem as if Henry was reacting to the runaway passing him. This face-switching effect would later be used successfully in "Jack Jumps In", "Rheneas and the Roller Coaster", and "Gordon and Spencer".
