• Actor Allusion: One of Kurtan's fleeting obsessions concerns the cast of children's programme The Queen's Nose and what they're all up to now. "Turns out most of them are still acting". They include Trevor Cooper, who plays Len.
• The Character Died with Him: Michael Sleggs, the actor who portrayed Slugs, passed away from heart failure between Series 2 and 3, so Slugs' death was written into the first episode of Series 3.
• The Danza: Michael Sleggs as Michael "Slugs" Slugette.
• Dawson Casting: It's suggested that Kerry and Kurtan are a few years out of school, so probably around the age of 20. At the start of the first series both Daisy-May and Charlie Cooper were closer to 30. This makes sense as they're essentially playing younger versions of themselves.
• Hide Your Pregnancy: Kerry looks larger in series 2 because Daisy May Cooper was wearing a fat suit to conceal her pregnancy. She and co-writer Charlie Cooper agreed that this made more sense than writing storylines around a pregnant Kerry.
• Real-Life Relative: As well as Daisy May and Charlie Cooper being actual siblings, Kerry's father Martin is played by their actual father, and Len is played by their uncle, established actor Trevor Cooper. Slugs is played by their friend Michael Sleggs.
• Shout-Out: The Scarecrow Festival raises money for The William Weston Foundation. There is no such charity- William Weston is Daisy May Cooper's partner.
