• Outdated by Canon: As the fanfic was first published two months prior to the Japanese release of Pokémon Gold and Silver, there are naturally elements within the fic that clash with those games plus games released in future generations. Some examples:
  • Marill is called "Pikablu" and classified as an Electric/Normal type. The former is later rectified in the fanfic itself by calling the Pokémon by its official name. Marill is also classified in the games as a Water type (or Water/Fairy from Generation VI onwards).
  • Onix and Clefairy get an evolution and pre-evolution, respectively, called Ebonex and Clemyth. Amusingly, an evolution of Onix and a pre-evolution of Clefairy do indeed make their debut in Generation II, only their names are instead Steelix and Cleffa.
