Trivia / The Stories of Sodor

Go To

  • Creator's Favorite Episode: Although he stated in his Q&A video that he is happy with all his episodes and wouldn't rewrite any of them, Victor does have some favorites. When asked the question "What's your favorite episode of your series that you worked on?", Victor answered that he is rather proud of "Diagnosis". He also gave that episode as an answer to the question of "What do you think was your best video?"
    • When asked "What episode or season are you most proud of?", Victor answered with "Trial" and the "Stories of War" miniseries, respectively.
    • He also confirmed in the Q&A his favorite episodes per season (in addition to "Trial" for Season 3 and "Diagnosis" for Season 4 Part 1, his favorite season 1 episode is "Ghost" and favorite season 2 episode is "Thief").
  • Missing Episode: The very first Sodor Snippet was taken down due to the use of the word "Retard". Which Victor promptly made an apology video afterwards.
  • Out of Order: "Blitz" and "Combat" were uploaded the wrong way around.
  • Schedule Slip: Originally, Season 2 was scheduled to come out in August 2017. This then changed to September. As of September 30, 2017, Season 2 was delayed to early 2018 due to Victor being busy with his job, and finally premiered on January 6, 2018 (Australian time).
  • Trailers Always Spoil: Subverted: At the end of "Diagnosis", Edward mentions that the new transfer to Sodor after Donald moved to the Brendam Branch to fill the vacancy left by the deceased Adam created a stir. The trailer for Season 4, however, featured BoCo prominetly thus many assumed the new prototype was him. It wasn't. It was Joshua aka Diesel 10.
  • Troubled Production: Victor experienced multiple issues during the making of Season 4, including problems with the overarching story featuring the SCP Foundation, and being unsatisfied with the episode "Return", which would have dealt with the ghost of Jeffreys. On February 28, 2020, Victor (or rather, Percy, Toby, and Diesel) announced that he would be starting over, and also posted the intro for the new season. The first episode, "Diesel", was released as an unlisted video via the Sodor Short "Prank" on April 2, 2020. Eventually, Victor decided to split Season 4 in two, with the first part finally beginning on October 9, 2020 with the official release of "Diesel".
  • What Could Have Been: The Stories of War miniseries was originally going to be a feature-length special titled War.
    • Season 4 was originally to have an overarching story involving the SCP Foundation trying to get the rights of non-faceless vehicles revoked (likely because they had declared them a collective SCP that needs to be contained). Eventually, Victor started over and decided to split the season into two halves, each 10 episodes each. Several episodes in the first part of Season 4 were reworked from episodes of the original fourth season:
      • "Robbery" was originally the fourth episode of the season, and was called "Return". It would have dealt with the ghost of Station Master Jeffreys. There was also no indication that Cuthbert was this universe's version of Johnny Cuba.
      • "Treasure" also originally came earlier in the season. The preview implied that the Thin Controller was hiding Nazi gold somewhere along the Skarloey Railway, with several commenters theorizing he himself was a Nazi sympathizer.
