Trivia / The Son of Kong

Go To

  • Christmas Rushed: The film was released in the same year as the original and was made in only nine months. In part because the concept of film sequels was new at the time and because they wanted it to be out before Christmas.
  • Magnum Opus Dissonance: According to The Other Wiki, the actor for Carl Denham, Robert Armstrong, preferred this to the original because it gave Denham more character development.
  • Prop Recycling: One of the ways used to cut costs was to reuse leftover models from the original movie. Kiko was made from one of the original Kong armatures, the Dragon was modified from the Brontosaurus model, and the Styracosaurus was an unused model intended for the previous film.
  • Word of God: Promotional material names Kong's son Kiko (a combination and abbreviation of King Kong) the name itself is never said in the film itself with Kiko simply being called Little Kong.
