• Cross-Dressing Voice: Marge's Homer-esque scream upon seeing Bart's clip-on nipple piercings was actually done by Dan Castellaneta, as Julie Kavner could not pull off such a scream. To make it less obvious, the scream was electronically pitched up to sound even more feminine.
• Milestone Celebration: Despite technically being the 302nd episode (with "The Strong Arms Of The Ma" as the 300th in order), this episode is advertised as the 300th episode of The Simpsons. The episode even lampshades this in a case of Leaning on the Fourth Wall:
  Marge: I can't count how many times your father's done something crazy like this.
  Lisa: (clicks a counter) It's 300, mom.
  Marge: I could have sworn it was 302.
  Lisa: Shh.
• What Could Have Been: Original drafts had Homer lose Bart's commercial money by buying a star that goes supernova and Homer being unable to get the money back, but the Michael Jackson baby-dropping incident happened and, much like South Park, they changed it at the last minute to reflect this pop culture reference.
