  • What Could Have Been:
    • In 2021, writer Magdalene Visaggio (Transformers vs. Visionaries, Vagrant Queen) tweeted that there were far more books in the Sandman Universe line planned during 2019, but unfortunately the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020 ended most of those plans.
    • Visaggio spoke in detail about a comic titled Sea of Clouds, which would have brought back Wanda from A Game Of You and give her a proper story. Wanda would've been given a second chance at life thanks to a deal she made with Death, but would've been reborn as a cisgender woman in a heterosexual relationship with a man. However, Wanda came to realize this was a mistake and went a journey to gain a sense of peace with herself. This would've brought Wanda into conflict with the Moon over its previous refusal to acknowledge her as a woman. Wanda was also going to be a caretaker to an older Barbie, suffering from cancer. At some point in the '90s, Barbie made a documentary about Wanda's life and turned her into a counterculture icon. Barbie would note how funny it was that Wanda "appeared so similar" to her friend. According to Visaggio, this comic had actually been given the green light by DC before becoming a victim of pandemic cost-cutting. Gaiman himself gave his full support to this book, recognizing it made more sense for Wanda's story to be handled by an actual trans woman author; Visaggio noted Gaiman contributed the idea of Wanda being Barbie's caretaker, which she found "awesome." She has considered rewriting the story without connections to Sandman, but remarked that she doesn't think the story would work without Wanda.
