The Cameo: Sportscaster Chris Berman, NFL great-turned sportscaster Lynn Swann, and former Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler all play themselves in brief cameo appearances.
Dawson Casting: Played straight with Craig Sheffer (32) as a college junior, and looking every bit his age. Halle Berry (26) as well, though she wasn't as far removed from college age as Sheffer was. Averted by most of the main cast, who were mostly in their early-to-mid-20s.
Deleted Scene: One infamous scene that got cut while the film was still in theaters was of the football players laying down in the center of a busy street (as a way to prove their manhood) with cars passing them by on both sides. After someone attempted that stunt in real life and got killed as a result (with others also getting injured from attempting it) Disney removed that scene from all future theatrical showings of the film and from all U.S. home releases. Though the scene is still intact on some overseas releases of the film such as the Hong Kong Laserdisc and Australian DVD.
