Trivia / The Little Pony Legend

Go To

  • Creative Differences: Ultimately what stalled out the Journey of Iris. Apparently there was a quarrel between the original author and Equestriakin over backstories and length for the story among other things, and eventually Maggiesheartlove decided to take back full creative control of the story. The party was amicable thankfully, but did stall the story.
  • Post-Script Season: Due to the way Korra and MLP work, a lot of the fics count as this. However, the one fic that's definitely this is Shadow of Ronin. Many of the characters even admit that their lives are almost boring now that they saved the world.
    • Also, retelling of Legends of Everfree is going to be made by the original author, who had initially said she was done with the saga.
  • Schedule Slip: The fic's adaptation of the My Little Pony: The Movie was originally slated to be released in October 2017. However, this schedule has been pushed back as a result of the damage caused by the Hurricane, which limited Maggie's access to her computer. Despite this, she still plans on writing the fic and completing it when she can.
  • What Could Have Been: The author was going to make and publish a short story based on the opening two-parter of Season 6 of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, but she cancelled it because she didn't feel inspired enough to pull off the new story.
    • But she eventually changed the structure and did release a story based on the 2 parter of season 6. Just with more emphasis on Starlight than before.
    • Book 2 was originally to be the end of the story with The Nightmare's Return closing the fic by tying up all loose ends. But the author couldn't resist continuing the story with Book 3 and Book 4 with the support of her co-writer, which prompted her to push back The Nightmare's Return, altering its role in the story as a spin-off of the main series, filling in the time skip between Books 3 and 4.
    • A New Beginning was originally made as a collab between Maggiesheartlove and Equestria Kirin named Journey of Iris. The story was also very different in its original form, with Nova, Sunset, and a few other Korra characters who weren't kidnapped serving as mentors for Iris and her friends while Big Bad Chrysalis commanded a pack of talking wolves in lieu of her old changeling army. The remade story still features Chrysalis as the Big Bad, but instead of commanding a pack of talking wolves as minions, she controls a pack of non-sapient wolves that she transformed into strange wolf-changeling hybrids. Also, Nova, Sunset, and the other parental figures who aren't kidnapped by Chrysalis' minions follow Iris and friends through the portal while Iris and friends venture through the Spirit World on their own.
