  • All-Star Cast: Downplayed. This being the final Animagic special, the biggest names Rankin-Bass could afford were actor Alfred Drake (The Great Ak) and singer-songwriter Lesley Miller (Necille). Other voices included a then-unknown J.D. Roth (who went on to host various game shows and co-create The Biggest Loser), and one of the children voices was Josh Blake (Jake Ochmonek on ALF). The rest of the cast was that of Thunder Cats:
    • Earl Hammond (Mumm-Ra, Vultureman, and Jaga) voices Santa Claus
    • Earle Hyman (Panthro and Redeye) voices King Agwas
    • Larry Kenney (Lion-O and several other recurring and minor characters) voices the Commander of the Wind Demons
    • Lynne Lypton (every female character, chiefly Cheetara and WilyKit) voices Queen Zurline
    • Bob McFadden (Snarf, Slithe, and countless other characters; he also voiced Jingle Bells in The Year Without a Santa Claus) voices Tingler
    • Peter Newman (Tygra, WilyKat, Bengali, and Monkian) voices Peter Knook
  • Stock Sound Effect: The Great Dragon from the Rankin-Bass version's roars are taken from, of all things, Rodan. One of the Agwas also has Mothra's screeches.
