- Dawson Casting: Almost entirely averted with the young adult characters, whose actors and actresses were the same age as their roles (18-19). The exception is lead actress Janella Salvador (born 1998), who was in her early twenties when she played Emma. At one point, the characters even believe that Luna (Alexa Ilacad, born 2000) may be slightly older than Emma, though with their actresses it's firmly the other way around.
- Fake Mixed Race: Ariella Arida is not mestiza (mixed native Filipino and white), but her character is the biological daughter of two conspicuously fair-skinned, mestizo parents.
- Real-Life Relative: Emma Bonaobra is actually Camila's daughter Vida dela Cuesta. Janella Salvador is Maja Salvador's real-life niece.
