• Awesome, Dear Boy: Both Fred Savage and William Devane had mostly retired from acting (Savage to become a director and producer, Devane to raise horses) but decided to step in front of the camera again because they loved the pilot script so much.
• Acclaimed Flop: The show only lasted one season, but managed to score a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.
• California Doubling: The show is ostensibly set in Boise, but you never see snow. Characters from Dean's previous life in L.A. seem to just be in the neighborhood with alarming frequency, which begs the question of why they didn't just set the show in the Los Angeles area somewhere.
