• Development Gag: Not for the fanfic series, but for Friendship Is Magic itself. The Adaptation Name Change from Princess Luna to Queen Selena is based off of a What Could Have Been, as is the story arc in the Deer village Harthind (a story involving a pony being adopted by Deer and Rainbow Dash being at odds with her friends about telling him was a Season 1 episode that never came to be).
