- No Stunt Double: Vincent Cassel, a Capoeira and Wing Chun practitioner himself, choreographed the fight scene himself with his trainer and gym pals, who are the guys playing the skinheads. They became a bit too enthusiast and actually hit each other full contact, resulting in Cassel being hurt in the face (his wounds afterwards are real) and his trainer getting a broken nose.
- Real-Life Relative: Jean-Pierre and Vincent Cassel both played in the first film and are father and son respectively.
- Sequel in Another Medium: Les Rivières pourpres (the novel and first movie's original title) is also a French series serving as a sequel for the first movie. It features another Old Cop, Young Cop pair, with Niemans (Olivier Marchalnote ) teaming up with a policewoman named Camille Delaunay (Erika Sainte).
