• Author's Saving Throw: According to Marvel producer Kevin Feige, The Consultant was filmed because the ending to The Incredible Hulk (2008) was a loose end that was causing problems with the plot of The Avengers. Unlike a lot of other Sequel Hooks in the franchise, this one never gained any context.
