• Banned in China: At one point or another, this film has been banned in almost every country.
• Cool Boat: The real-life pre-dreadnought battleship Potemkin was scrapped in 1923; the film used another Black Sea Fleet pre-dreadnought to represent her, Dvenadsat Apostolov (Двенадцать Апостолов—"Twelve Apostles"), which was being used as a storage hulk in Sevastopol.
